Disseminating knowledge about the surface water in Brazil is the goal of the National Water-Quality Assessment Program and its portal on the internet (http://pnqa.ana.gov.br). Launched on Wednesday (June 30), these public policies were designed to restore environmental quality to rivers and reservoirs and to expand the National Monitoring Network.
On the same day, a donation agreement between the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the National Water Agency (ANA) was signed - IABD will donate US$ 800,000.00 to ANA, the entity responsible for the management of the Program.
The Water Quality Portal (http://pnqa.ana.gov.br) consolidates available information on 3,300 water treatment plants of the ANA and partner institutions registered in the database HidroWeb (http://hidroweb.ana.gov.br/). Charts and maps are available for those who want to know more about the process of degradation and purification of rivers.
